Dan Smith
Dan Smith, a native of St. Paul, MN, was drafted by the Texas Rangers out of Creighton University in 1990. Dan was the Rangers first round draft pick and the 16th player taken in the entire 1990 free agent draft. Dan spent eight years in the Ranger organization -- pitching for the Rangers in 1992 and 1994. After injuries plagued him with the Rangers, Dan hit the comeback trail with his hometown St. Paul Saints in 1998 and played for the Chicago Cubs AA Southern League team in 1999 and the Atlanta Braves AAA International League team in 2000.
Dan returned to his hometown St. Paul Saints last year making the conversion from player to pitching coach. Dan brings great commitment and experience to his new role as a pro pitching coach and we expect to see him back in the Show as a coach. His work with the Knight pitchers the past four winters has been highly appreciated.
GOOD LUCK DAN !!!!!!
